Review of Hak’s House, Siem Reap, Cambodia

Hak’s House is a great solution for tourists travelling on a budget; rooms start at as low as $7 a night and include a fan (if they don’t have A/C). However, for $10, you get air conditioning, which is so important when you stay in Cambodia.

Rooms are simple, but very clean; if you don’t know precisely the hour when you’ll leave the hotel, they can offer you late check out (until 5 o’clock in the afternoon), which comes in handy in many situations. Bathrooms are acceptable, provided that you don’t need special personal care devices. That is, don’t expect lotus flowers here.

Apart from that, they offer good internet connection (they can even accommodate you with a computer, provided that you don’t travel with your laptop; but don’t expect speed), special tours if you don’t have enough creativity to choose your own attraction sites, and international phone call (very important when you travel to Cambodia).

  • Great home-cooked food by Hak’s mother;
  • The family owning this place is very friendly and helpful;
  • They offer good directions should you need it.

  • Not close to the center of the town.
