What to do in Sihanoukville, the Cambodian Seaside

You should plan your itinerary, depending on the number of days you want to spend in Sihanoukville. If you happen to dedicate one single day for this location, you should focus on the beaches, because they provide a fast insight on the area. That way, you’ll be able to experience both the relaxation of a wild place and serve something traditional on one of the terraces located nearby.

For a two-day trip, you should alternate between getting to know the town and sun bathing on a beach. For three days, do the same thing, extensively. Finally, for seven days or more, enjoy the entire cluster of possibilities, from visiting local landmarks, going on a tropical island, eating good Khmer food, and walk on the incredibly colored beaches close to Sihanoukville. If you have the time and the disposition, you can also embark on a trip to a national park, situated south-east from the resort, called Ream National Park.

Whichever the scenario may be, don’t miss two things while you’re here: the food and the sand. The food is really special and it suits everybody, from people in love with traditional, simple dishes to connoisseurs with a sensitive palate. On the other side, the color of the sand on the beaches nearby is indescribable, really.
